Gavin grew up on a game ranch and his family were pioneers in the Safari Industry. Gavin has many years of experience in the industry, and has worked for many well renowned operators, namely National Safaris in 1984 and Van Der Riet Safaris. It was here that Gavin lived full time at Sengwa Camp on Lake Kariba, Zimbabwe where he assisted in Crocodile Farming and wildlife captures. In 1987 – 1989 Gavin culled 3000 wild large Crocodiles in Cahora Bassa Lake in Mozambique, (in a very inhospitable country at the time). In 1991 Gavin married Debbie, and went on to join Russ Broom safaris after it won the Binga/Sengwa/Lusulu Concession, where he became head Professional hunter and Director.

After 18 years at Russ Broom Safaris he went on to form Gavin Rorke Safaris and has hunted all over Zimbabwe. Gavin has accompanied hunts in Zambia, Botswana, Mozambique and Tanzania. Gavin now offers big game safaris of the highest standard in the famous and uninhabited Matetsi National Parks Safari area surrounding Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. One of Africa’s remaining remote and wild areas. In addition to Matetsi, Gavin also offers his safari knowledge within the renowned Nuanetsi Ranch, famous for its vast and abundant game varieties. He provides an experience like no other.
